“Now more than ever, it’s important to be intentionally proactive in your job-hunting,” said startup founder and CEO Ken Bao at a press conference Friday to unveil his company’s new service, which allows users to put their job-seeking process on autopilot in anticipation of automation replacing their jobs. “We do all the grunt work for you—scheduling interviews with automated hiring tools, writing up an entirely non-automated resume, doing the actual job interview, signing the mandatory non-automated non-disclosure agreement—which frees you up to focus on other things, like packing up your desk.” Bao added that, while his company’s service was not yet perfect, it would soon be able to take care of even the most elusive, high-paying jobs in the industrialized world. Later that day, Bao turned to one of his employees, who he had scheduled for termination, and asked her a series of tedious and repetitive interview questions, the answers to which machines would soon be able to provide more efficiently.
